The visit with the orthopedic specialist revealed that my collarbone had not been fractured in the accident. Someone goofed the paperwork at the hospital. The source of pain appears to have been from a severe shoulder strain. So hazzah for 4 weeks of physical therapy on the neck and shoulder muscles that are bugging me. That’s still a bit easier to rehab than a broken bone. Hopefully there isn’t any more severe damage in there that didn’t show up on the CT scans.

Harsh Recovery
So I went to the gym tonight. I didn’t last long. Once I tried the shoulder press machine, I realized that my recovery may take longer than expected. Between the aching pain in the shoulder and the ribs feeling like something was bubbling and bulging out I couldn’t get much done. The steam room felt really good though. Sauna and whirlpool tomorrow I thinks.

The Perils Of Ownership
Owning your own home is great until something breaks. First was repairing the leaking hot water line yesterday. The effects of the steam rising under the house rotted out a nice chunk of the flooring. Oh joy. This is pushing close to $1000 that I had set aside for my new Macbook Pro. I am not amused.
So the thought occurs to me. I have a PayPal account. How hard is it to set up a donation thing for the blog? And is it a violation of Blogshares rules to promote it with text ads? Somebody help me here. I’m kind of in the dark when it comes to doing this stuff.

New Meds
Lamictal is doing a number on me. Fortunately, it’s a good number. I haven’t had any alcohol since New Year’s Eve and I haven’t had much craving for it. Monday brings up the follow up appointment that should bring another dosage increase and a change in the anti-depressant medication. Hopefully it keeps going smoothly and I can get back into a regular routine.
Once I get a release from the orthopedic specialist, I can start strengthening the injured shoulder. I realized how much I miss going to the gym a few days ago. It was nice to get into a sauna and steam room after a few months. And after five weeks of sitting on my ass, I need the exercise. My energy levels have gone straight downhill. Bleh. I need a nap.
